Muir Clan – Our Clan Charter<\/strong><\/p>\n

This week, Muir clan have been learning about the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) and exploring the rights that all children should have. We began by discussing what a “right” is and why children’s rights are important both in school and in the wider world.<\/p>\n

Together, we explored different articles from the UNCRC and talked about which rights are most meaningful to us in our school and classroom. Through thoughtful discussion and teamwork, the children selected four rights that they feel are the most important to display, promote and respect within our classroom environment.<\/p>\n

The children then worked together to create a list of ways that they can respect these rights for themselves and for others every day. This helped them to understand that rights come with responsibilities and that everyone has a role in helping to make our classroom a safe, happy and inclusive place to learn.<\/p>\n

We chose a theme for our Clan Charter, created a catchy slogan \u2018Level up: Respect my rights, respect yours\u2019<\/strong> and added their own characters to make it unique and meaningful. We are very proud of the creativity, collaboration and respect shown throughout this learning.<\/p>\n

Our Clan Charter will now be displayed in our classroom as a reminder of the rights we share and how we will respect these rights for ourselves and others to ensure we all feel valued, respected and supported.<\/p>\n
