Wonderful Weaving.
Another brilliant idea to keep little hands busy!
All you need is an old cereal box and some string! First practise your cutting skills first by cutting out an egg shape and then snip some holes work, continue working on your fine motor skills by threading different colours of string/wool through the holes!
Its an egg’cellent activity to kick start the Easter holiday’s.
Magic Rainbow
Sunflower Activity
All the nursery children should have received a sunflower activity pack.
Using this pack you can all grow your own Sunflower, Mrs Thacker has made a wee film of how to do this with her two amazing assistants!
You can watch it here on the Schools Main Blog, remember to send us your photos or films:
Playdough Fun!
Playdough will is great fun to make and will keep little minds busy for ages and is great for developing fine motor skills, however you will need some ingredients which might be tricky to find right now!
You will need:
- 8 tbsp plain flour
- 2 tbsp table salt
- 60ml warm water
- food colouring
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
What to do:
1. Mix the flour and salt in a large bowl. Mix the water, a few drops of food colouring and the oil in a glass.
2. Pour the coloured water into the flour mix and bring together with a spoon.
3. Dust a work surface with a little flour and turn out the dough. Knead together for a few minutes to form a smooth, pliable dough. If you want a more intense colour you can work in a few extra drops of food colouring.
4. Store in a plastic sandwich bag (squeeze out the air) in the fridge to keep it fresh.
