Christmas is always a really busy time of year in the nursery:
We have been out and about within the community acting out the story of the 3 Billy Goats Gruff, we took out masks down to the park and had great fun using the buried tunnel and mound to act out the story!
We have been working on our singing voices for before the Nativity and some of the children had the opportunity to sing on the school stage during all together time on Wednesday, the school children were fantastic listeners and the nursery children really enjoyed performing. We hope everyone will enjoy listening to us on the 15th, we are really looking forward to it!!
Being the month of December we are focusing on Caring and Kindness within the nursery, last week the children were asked “Who has been kind to us, or helped us in our Nursery?”  Staff noted the responses and our Kindness Advent Calendar started on Monday!
We took lots of time thinking of nice things we could make, bake and design to show our appreciation for people who have helped us! The children will all take turns to deliver a Kindness gesture and on Monday we began with the Community wing!! We are grateful for all the help they gave the nursery at the beginning of its journey hosting parents meetings and for continuing to allow us to share their play area.
Tuesday we said thanks to the Janitors, Drew, Tom and Diane! They fix our toys for us and they help the ladies move heavy furniture, they also make sure the doors are unlocked so we can play in nursery.
On Wednesday it was the turn of Miss Potter and Primary 6, we really enjoy them coming to visit us in the nursery and enjoy the stories they read us in the library. All the children look forward to them knocking on the door and we know they loved the Crispy Cakes we made them!
On Thursday we said Thank you too Mrs Grey she comes and presents NYCOS to our children and staff. We are thankful for her taking time to teach us new songs and games and helping us develop our ability to hear and follow rhythm and beat.
We have been busy making lots of nice gifts and cards to be given out as Kindness Advent…. I wonder who will get a visit from Mini Santa’s next week??
