The Primary 7 children are having a fantastic time at camp! They have all challenged themselves and have made the staff very proud of their achievements. They have taken part in a very full timetable which carries on right up until bedtime and as such everyone is very busy until lights out time! Primary 7 planted apple trees at Beechbrae and have had to wait patiently for them to bear fruit!
Now in Primary 7, the children headed back up to the orchard with Ally Aitken, the Project Manager at Beechbrae and picked not only a wide variety of apples but also peas.
The class learned a great deal about their local surroundings en route to the orchard and are excited to see the trees flourish in the future!
As an introduction to Fairtrade Fortnight Primary 7 created some very attractive Fairtrade Pots which depicted what Fair Trade is all about.
The class learned about the whole concept behind Fairtrade and now have an understanding of what the Fairtrade Logo stands for and can explain why some Fairtrade foods cost a little extra to buy.
Primary 7 also completed a school survey to find out the most popular Fairtrade snack items and have purchased these to sell at intervals.They will be available from 23rd February for the whole of Fairtrade Fortnight.
Primary 7 recently created French books which they shared with their Primary One ‘wee buddies’.
The younger children responded very well and some of them were able to remember the new words they encountered.
One clever cookie in Primary One managed to write out all of the colour words in French. Magnifique!
