Having a more relaxed morning this morning and spending some time in our garden, eating ice lollies with our friends before we break up for the summer holidays.
Fun in the Sun
Just look at all the fun in the sun we had at BEYC yesterday…..
Water play is the best way to cool down!
The Baby Shark song has been the firm favorite song this year, maybe even as popular as Let it Go a couple of years ago!

Moving on Day.
Thank you to all our families who came along to see pre-school children receive their certificates at our Moving on Day Ceremonies. All children were wonderful singers, despite the very hot temperature today.
Please share the photos you took today with us, so we can add them to this blog post.
You can email them to Miss Wilkinson or Miss Kelly.

Garden Fete Thank You!
We are delighted to say our Garden Fete raised over £518.00 for the nursery, this is an amazing about and thank you to everyone for their generosity and help.
We would also like to say a huge thank you to everyone for taking the time to prepare a miniature garden. We are overwhelmed by the response and so proud of all the children’s achievements. The gardens are amazing and it is so nice to see the children’s personalities coming through in them. We have put all the gardens on display at the nursery entrance so everyone can see and enjoy them. On Tuesday all children that took part will receive a certificate to celebrate their achievement.
Please take your garden home at your convenience.
Magical Garden Fete!
What a fantastic Garden Fete!

Skype Story Session.
This afternoon some of us sat down at the ActivPanel to listen to stories being read by other West Lothian pupils via a Skype video call within Glow, fabulously organised by Kirknewton Primary School! We loved hearing the familiar story we created a part of about the giraffe and the talking pancake, a few weeks ago during National Digital Learning Week at BEYC.
BEYC would love to collaborate with West Lothian schools and ELC’s next term to have Skype video calls to share learning with other boys and girls in West Lothian.
Do you have any ideas about what else we could use Skype for?  In the past we have met with other pupils to listen to stories, join in sing-a-longs and chat to our P1 friends about school.
We would love to hear your thoughts from home.
Thank You Musical Dave.
We have loved having Dave, a visiting music specialist, visit our nursery each week to work with us in our groups.
Today was his last session at BEYC . Children experienced playing musical instruments, listenign games, songs and dance. We like playing musical statues to the fast and slow beats of Dave’s drums. The parachute games were lots of fun too! Look how high the Gruffalo bounced…..
Miniature Garden Competition
Who is up for our latest try at home challenge?
Can you design and create a miniature garden at home?
Trays, compost and name labels are available to collect from nursery free of charge.
Please bring your miniature gardens back to nursery no later than Thursday 21st June for all entries to be judged by a special guest at the garden fete.
Good luck!
Summer Party Planning
Our end of term summer party takes place on Thursday 28th June 2018.
We are all so excited about this already and have started talking about it with our friends!
Today we made a start on planning our party and thought about the food/drinks, music and party games we would like.
Our plans so far, are on the wall in the cloak room. We will continue to add to them over the next couple of weeks.  Parents/carers are welcome to add children’s suggestions to them too.
