Primary 2 had a great time being shown some judo moves, here are a few photos to show how well we did.
The P2 class are settling into their new routines. We are a little bit older and there are lots more things to do!
We have been trying hard to listen to all the different instructions and do everything a little bit quicker. The cloakroom is very busy so it is important to keep our shoes together and be very tidy with our coats.
In the classroom we are learning different ways to look at numbers from 1-100 and investigating shape, 2D and 3D.
We are being positive about our friendships, and trying hard to be caring and listen to others ideas.
We are reading the Rainbow Fish and thinking about what happened to him in the story and what he had to do for his friends.
We are also looking at the changing colours of the trees and looking out for Autumn fruits.
We have our caterpillars and plants. Both of them are growing. We will have to take great care of them.
We were doing some more multiplication.
We wrote very long stories about Jack and the Beanstalk.
We thought how we could use plastic bottles to make useful objects. We watched a clip about the Titanic and it was very interesting.
Primary 2 started doing Book Reviews for our book reading during ERIC time.
We looked at Poems to look for rhyming words and some missing words.
May the fourth go with you!
This week we have been looking more closely at Eco Systems and how we all depend on each other to survive. We also understand how these can be destroyed by a simple action or by a huge environmental happening.
Primary 2 have been looking at the flowers in the school outside area, drawing them, naming them and describing them.
We also watched the start of the ‘My Home is Green ‘ and we are all keen to see the end. It is a story of friendship between an ant and a caterpillar after a change in their home environment.
Fantastic work in class using brainstorming/floorbooks, creating Spring poems, Primary 2 enjoy sharing ideas in this way, wonderful work!
Class have also been introduced to the concept of multiplication.
Lots of interesting ideas bouncing round about.
Thank you to parents who had the time to visit the Communnity Cafe on Friday.
The children enjoyed dressing up as their favourite book character and joining in with the World Book Day Assembly.
Thanks to the 4 little people who were happy to read for our class, Andie, Jack, Sophia and Lauren.
Here they are all dressed up!
Homework for the next fortnight.
Choose to listen to one of the books from above and then design your own cover for it!
Build a book den!
Read it and make it.
2oz (50 g) Butter or hard margarine
2oz (50g) Cocoa powder
4oz (100g) Icing sugar
Press the ingredients together with the back of a spoon, this takes a while but eventually the mixture comes together and gradually changes colour.
Then add your choice of flavouring.
1tsp vanilla essence (for chocolate flavour)
Roll small amounts of the mixture into small balls and then cover them by rolling in desiccated coconut for snowballs. Hundreds and thousands or vermicelli for something different.
Cover and leave to dry for 24 hours
