{"id":7587,"date":"2021-12-20T11:48:51","date_gmt":"2021-12-20T10:48:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/wl\/beatlieblog\/?p=7587"},"modified":"2021-12-20T11:49:33","modified_gmt":"2021-12-20T10:49:33","slug":"seasonal-fun-in-music","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/wl\/beatlieblog\/2021\/12\/20\/seasonal-fun-in-music\/","title":{"rendered":"Seasonal fun in music\u00a0&#8211; December 2021"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">We began the term\u00a0in Primary\u00a0with Halloween and our regular visit to the Hairy Scary Castle, using switches and instruments for all the creepy sounds of the monsters in the castle.\u00a0We matched the sounds to the monster and worked together to create a sequence for the song.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">As Autumn went on,\u00a0we explored fast and slow songs together, singing about the falling leaves blowing around in the wind\u00a0and playing instruments at faster or slower tempo.\u00a0Glendevon played bass bars in sequence for this,\u00a0and everyone concentrated so well.\u00a0When we had the cold snap, we switched the lyrics to snowflakes\u00a0falling, which felt very seasonal.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Then of course we have had Christmas songs at the end of term, which everyone enjoys.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The Nursery and early Primary groups continued their intensive interaction music\u00a0and are enjoying the recognition of the increasingly familiar songs and games. The secondary groups\u00a0and the 1-1 sessions\u00a0have also\u00a0continued their musical journeys and they have enjoyed choosing their\u00a0favourite instruments\u00a0and exploring genres.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Next year, the children will build on their good work and add in new seasonal\u00a0songs and music.
