{"id":7133,"date":"2020-12-17T11:03:18","date_gmt":"2020-12-17T10:03:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/wl\/beatlieblog\/?p=7133"},"modified":"2020-12-17T11:34:59","modified_gmt":"2020-12-17T10:34:59","slug":"ochiltree-term-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/wl\/beatlieblog\/2020\/12\/17\/ochiltree-term-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Ochiltree Term 2"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It has been a term like no other in Ochiltree but we have survived and got through it together and hopefully the new year will bring about positive changes for us all.<\/p>\n<p>The children have coped tremendously well over the year and have made some great progress despite all the hurdles that they have faced.\u00a0 We have had a packed timetable despite the restrictions and we have been able to experience more of the outdoors and new activities throughout our day.<\/p>\n<p>We have enjoyed our topic of electricity and the new class jobs that we experienced &#8211; using the hoover, microwave and lots of switching toys, tools and utensils.<\/p>\n<p>We have been outside lots &#8211; going on walks, litter picks, experiencing different weathers and different environments. We are enjoying looking after the courtyard area of the school and look forward to planting and growing produce we can use in recipes as the year progresses in 2021.<\/p>\n<p>We have had lots of experiences cooking, craft work and games in the classroom which has been fun for everyone getting to know each other and building relationships as they learn to take turns and share with each other. All of the children have made some great personal progress with their independence and target work as well as working on ASDAN and SQA modules which we will continue to update you on in their Learners Journals.<\/p>\n<p>We would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and look forward to seeing you all again soon in 2021.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" width=\"474\" height=\"311\" src=\"https:\/\/sway.office.com\/s\/NTE1ETEQw93gwDFt\/embed\" allowfullscreen webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen msallowfullscreen ><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><em>Article 28 (right to education)<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Every child has the right to an education.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Primary education must be free and<\/em><br \/>\n<em>different forms of secondary education<\/em><br \/>\n<em>must be available to every child. Discipline<\/em><br \/>\n<em>in schools must respect children\u2019s dignity<\/em><br \/>\n<em>and their rights. Richer countries must help<\/em><br \/>\n<em>poorer countries achieve this.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Article 29 (goals of education)<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Education must develop every child\u2019s<\/em><br \/>\n<em>personality, talents and abilities to the<\/em><br \/>\n<em>full. It must encourage the child\u2019s respect<\/em><br \/>\n<em>for human rights, as well as respect<\/em><br \/>\n<em>for their parents, their own and other<\/em><br \/>\n<em>cultures, and the environment.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Article 31 (leisure, play and culture)<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Every child has the right to relax, play and<\/em><br \/>\n<em>take part in a wide range of cultural and<\/em><br \/>\n<em>artistic activities.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It has been a term like no other in Ochiltree but we have survived and got through it together and hopefully the new year will bring about positive changes for us all.
