Thesaurus

P3 challenge: This week we have started to use a thesaurus (not a dinosaur). We used the thesaurus in our library and the thesaurus tool in Word on our class computer to find the many meanings for every day words. Inspired by the weather, we looked for words meaning the same as ‘hot’. We found many words and thought of some on our own. Our favourite alternatives included ‘snugly’ and ‘scorching’. We certainly hope this lovely sunny weather continues!

P3 Football

P3 have been developing their football skills each week in preparation for a football tournament in June. They have learned to dribble with their feet, stop the ball with one foot, header the ball, turn the ball with the inside and outside of their feet and most importantly have fun! We are hoping to use our skills to score lots of goals at the tournament. We will keep you posted…

Club Golf Scotland

Well done to one Owen for doing so well in his young golfing career. We wish you luck and a great time when you visit Gleneagles over the Easter holiday! You can find out more about this by clicking on the following link:

Diamond Time

P3 enjoyed our golf session for Diamond Time today. Two of the P3 children got a sticker from Ian for being top putters and chippers but all the children did really well and encouraged each other throughout the session.

Blackness Castle visit

P3 visited Blackness Castle on Monday 19th March. We were very lucky as it didn’t rain the whole day but it was a bit windy! We were told all about the castle’s history and we learned that the nickname for Blackness Castle is The Ship that Never Sailed. We also got to look at, and try on, artefacts from medieval times, including helmets, coins, shoes, stamps, writing sets and arrows. In the castle, we saw a drawbridge, towers, the great hall, a latrine, a well, crenellations, the battlement and a pit (or prison). We all enjoyed our visit and have written reports about our experience.
