Over the next few weeks, Primary 1 and 2 will be making a woodland setting using different techniques. Today they were selecting different colours and thicknesses of paper before ripping paper into long and short lengths to make trees for the forest. Look out for more additions to the woodland settings over the next few weeks. We will also be adding characters to re-tell stories pupils have been enjoying.
Please have a look at our posters and pass them onto your friends. Pass them onto other schools. Pass them onto people at work. We want to slow down the cutting of trees. We want to save our planet. Stop wasting paper please. Remember to use both sides of paper and think before you print! From P3/4 pupils.
We had our Save Paper march around our school today. We have set the pupils and the staff some challenges to try to use less paper and save our trees.
Some of the slogans we shouted included:
“What do we want? SAVE OUR TREES! When do we want it? NOW!!”;
“When there’s no more TREES, there’s no more US!”;
“Save our rainforests! RECYCLE PAPER!”
We hope we are encouraging our community to think about the amount of paper we waste.
Please look out for more facts and information coming soon on our blog page.
P3/4 would like to say a huge THANK YOU to Mr Kao who brought his telescope into school today. We loved your fascinating powerpoint and we enjoyed asking you questions about our solar system. You have really inspired us to find out lots more about how The Egyptians used astronomy to understand time and the yearly calendar.
