Cairnpapple Open Morning

Sadly, the weather was against us on Friday morning and we had to cancel our planned event on the hill itself. However, we quickly adapted our plans and held the open morning in the school itself. The event was a great success with family and friends being invited to have a guided tour of of the site (using our 3D wall display), try out some Neolithic crafts including pottery, weaving, mask making and bread making. Hopefully, pupils will get the chance to take family/friends to the site during their own time, where they can explain again why Cairnpapple is such an important local historic site. Thank you to all those who came to share our learning with us. We are all looking forward to seeing Historic Scotland’s film of the event!

Visit to Hampden

P3/4/5 enjoyed an eventful day at Hampden Park today. As Ryan was a finalist in the Show Racism the Red Card competition, the class were invited to have a tour around the stadium and its museum before attending a star-studded award ceremony. The biggest highlight was hearing Ryan announced as the winner of the P1-4 category with the next most popular part being collecting autographs from the footballers who were present. A memorable day!
