Primary 1/2 had an Outdoor Ranger visit from Beecraigs for an action packed afternoon. To begin the afternoon, pupils hid acorns and at the end of the day, tried to find them just like squirrels searching for food in the Winter. We made a Nature Palette, bird feeders and used clay to make Tree Faces.
Ski Team Success
Congratulations to our school ski team ‘A’ who came 4th out of 12 teams at the recent competition held at Hillend. This is a vast improvement on their 9th position last year!
There were some personal time improvements made for 3 boys in particular:
P3/4 Learning Update
P3/4 have been learning more about nouns and verbs. We were looking for verbs and nouns in our reading book and used Naomi Noun and Veronica Verb to help.
In Maths, we have been using different strategies to help with our tables. Ask us about repeated addition and arrays! We have also been working on some subtraction number work.
We have created some Space artwork based on the work of Peter Thorpe.
P6/7 Homework
What We Have Been Learning This Week.
This week we built catapults to try and recreate the bouncing bomb/dam buster in WW2. we walked up to Loch Cote and tried to fire marbles across the water. It did not work out how we wanted to, partly because of the wind was to strong and because the elastic was to thin. We are going to see if we can make adjustments to our design to improve it.
