Anti Bullying Week 19 – 23 November 2012

Leading up to Anti Bullying Week, our school held an assembly to discuss what ‘bullying’ means.  We also discussed that bullies will pick on people for things they are good at as well as other reasons.

During our assembly we looked at Olympians such as Tom Daly and Rebecca Adlington who had also been bullied for being fantastic sportsmen.

To help us think about how we can help prevent bullying ,or help those who have been bullied, all the pupils made a pledge that was their personal promise.

We have the right not to be treated badly because of your colour, sex or religion, if you speak another language, have a disability, or are rich or poor (article 2).

Rights Respecting Steering Group

Our RR Steering Group meet fortnightly on Tuesdays with Mrs Johnston. There is either 1 or 2 representatives from each year group on the steering group.  We are currently carrying out the Level 2 Audit in order to plan our action for the coming term.

We would like to have a special name to idenfity ourselves that uses alliteration of the ‘R’ so any ideas would be much appreciated!  Please feel free to leave a comment to help us generate ideas.

Christmas Church Service

Friends and family of both Torphichen and Westfield Primary School are welcome to attend our Christmas church service on Tuesday 18th December at 9.30am in Torphichen Kirk.

We will be remembering the Nativity story through our carol singing and readings, which will be read by Olivia Stark and Duane Morrison.  There will be musical performances from our string players as well as Heather Knox on the piano.

We look forward to welcoming you.

At Torphichen Primary we Love to Learn, Achieve, Respect and Nurture
