Sunflower Competition Winners!

Congratulations to all the pupils on being a part of the winning school for the Rural Connect Sunflower Competition 2013.

All pupils were responsible for caring for the sunflowers that we were given from Rural Connect at Oatridge College.  Lauren’s Grandad, Rab, was our expert sunflower grower and he kept us right with what to feed the flowers and how to look after them.  He even came in during the summer to continue to care for our sunflowers!

Last Tuesday, a team from Rural Connect came to measure our tallest sunflower and we were the winners with 2m 66cm!  Tomorrow (Thursday 19th Sept) Russell and some others from Rural Connect are coming to our assembly to present our award –  £300 Dobbies vouchers!!  To see the other results please go to:

Mrs. Fresson shares her expertise!

Mrs Fresson presenting to P3/4/5

Today P3/4/5 were visited by Mrs. Fresson. She is an electrical engineer with a company called Optos who build machines to examine our eyes. We recently made eye balls in class as part of our Burke and Hare topic. Her visit allowed us to study the eye in more detail and find out exactly what Mrs. Fresson does. We’re all hoping to see a photo of Murray’s eye soon!
