P5/6 Update

We have been very busy working on and performing our show ‘Olivia!’. There were many stars on and off the stage. Here are some of our reflections on the skills we developed through the show:

‘The show developed my organisational skills because I had to be ready to bring props on and off stage at the right time. Performers were developing their drama skills.’ Luca

‘I was working on my memory skills as I had lots of words to remember and I had to remember when I had to come on stage.’ Daniel

‘I was applying my digital skills and I learned how use the sound technology equipment.’ Ewan

‘I had to learn a dance and perform it in time with others.’ Chloe

‘The show developed my confidence because I had to sing 2 solo performances in front of an audience.’ Laura

‘I developed my performance skills in singing. The show helped me to become more confident.’ Merryn

P5/6 Learning Update

In preparation for the show we have been working with P6/7 to rehearse all of the songs for the show. We have been practising followjng stage directions to carry out acting parts, learning dances and creating the show programme.

In maths and numeracy the P6s have been learning how to write decimal times and calculating durations of time.

In p5 some groups have been learning how to calculate percentages and also how to calculate the volume of shapes. We are using our multiplication and division knowledge when doing this.

In IDL we were learning about the key events in the Battle of Bannockburn. This prepares us for our class trip to the battlefield on 11th March.

In writing this week the P5s were developing their descriptive writing through creating a character of a tiny dragon.

Remember next week is World Book Day, you can come to school dressed as a character from a book.

We hope everyone who goes to Lendrickmuir has a great time and that the weather is kind to you!
