Day 2 at Lowport Camp

Hello, from all at Lowport!

What a way to spend our second day at camp! We have all had another fantastic fun-packed day.

After a great sleep, everyone woke up feeling refreshed and ready to go. A huge breakfast set us up for our three activities, Problem Solving (team games), Sailing and Archery.

Tensho, Adam and Phoebe loved sailing. They enjoyed getting the chance to sail their own boat and jump in the cold loch!

Sailing was a favourite with Matthew and Murray too.

Lucy and Euan enjoyed archery the most because they hit the target. Holly and Nethuki loved archery because they played the ‘pizza game.’

Adrien and Alfie were real team players when transferring their ‘toxic fuel’through the obstacle course, to their rocket.

Mathew and Miller really enjoyed walking round the loch after dinner.
Douglas, Theo and Luca were great dancers at our disco this evening. Alex showed off his great dancing skills too.

We had a great game of stop the bus followed by a yummy supper of hot chocolate, banana loaf and toast. Now settling to our DVD Ready for a well deserved rest.

Tomorrow is our last day. The weather forecast predicts that it will be lovely. We are looking forward to our last activity of sailing, problem solving and archery. Followed by a short walk and a tour of Linlithgow Palace by the Primary 7 children from Linlithgow Primary.

Thank you for all of the wonderful comments left on our post from last night. It was lovely to share them all at group time.

See you all tomorrow.

Road Trip U.S.A.

Nethuki: “Our new topic is U.S.A. and we’re very excited about learning about all of the states.”

Rosie: “We’ve designed a futuristic vehicle to travel around the USA. I’m excited to make the model of my Hover-Jeep.”

Kathryn: “We’ve been writing about what we will need to make our model car for going around the USA.”

Elliot: “Our plan is to draw a map of the USA and to learn about a different place each week. We’re going to place a picture of a car on the places that we’re leanring about.”

Oskar: “I liked designing my futuristic vehicle because I want to be an architect when I grow up. It was really fun for all of us to share our ideas and compare our views to make really great vehicles.”

Adrien: “I thought it was a great idea to design our futuristic vehicles so we could travel in them. My group has designed The Adventure Tourer. It has a bed, a TV, a sofa, a pop-up bed, a kitchen and a toilet.”

Charlotte: “I’m looking forward to seeing where we will be going on our road trip.”

Lucy: “I am looking forward to learning about all of the different cities.”

Here we are discussing our ideas and writing notes on how we will make our model vehicles.

We have created some very intersting designs.

Reflections in P3/4

Well, here we are, at the end of another busy term. As we reflect on our learning, we are remembering all the great experiences we have had and all the new skills and knowledge that we have gained…

“I liked designing our own coffin because it was interesting looking at the finished result.” Elliot.

“I liked decorating our own Death Mask because it was fun and a wee bit tricky.” Sophie.

“I liked decorating the Pyramids that we had to do for our homework task.” Georgia.

“I liked looking at the papyrus paper and trying to solve hieroglyphics problem solving.” Daniel.

“I liked making our own hieroglyphics secret messages because it was funny and challenging looking at the drawings.” Ewan.

“It was fun when we got to paint the coffins and when we learned about Egptian time-line.” Kathryn.

“I liked making our time-line and hieroglyphics secret messages.” Cameron.

” I liked making up our own Egyptian questions.” Luca.

“I like answering the Egyptian quiz questions and writing about our Egypt school trip.” Adrien.

” I learned how to layout a proper newspaper report.” Nethuki.

“I learned how to do an Egyptian number poster.” Charlotte.

“I enjoyed weighing our model hearts against the Feather of Truth and Righteousness.” Sarah.

We all cannot wait for our trip to the museum to see a real Egyptian coffin and a real Egyptian mummy on 18th April. P3/4.

Thank You Ms Lecoq

P3/4 had a wonderful day thanks to Ms Lecoq and her knowledge in Science. She came into class today to work with us for a whole morning, showing us how to investigate materials as real scientists do. Ms Lecoq used plastazote as an example and we were able to see how this particular material changes with heat. We moulded and produced our own Ancient Egyptian Death Masks when learning about its properties.

We would like to say a huge thank you!! The masks look great.
