We Got Mail – Christmas Cards from Europe

Our Global Citizenship Committee have involved the school in an eTwinning Christmas Card Project.  They asked pupils from all classes to design a Christmas Card reflecting Scottish traditions.  They collected the cards and sent them to 49 schools over Europe.  We are now receiving Christmas cards in return on a daily basis.  It has been very exciting opening the cards and reading about celebrations around Europe.  We have received cards from Poland, Romania, Italy, Spain, France, Greece, Hungary and Czech Republic.

Class on the canal

P6/7 had the delight of experiencing a ‘normal’ school day with a twist.  We were invited along to go cruising on The Wooden Spoon canal boat to extend our learning in our Scottish Canals topic.  Our skipper, Ronnie (Archie’s grandad), not only told us all about the history of the canal but he allowed us to have a shot at steering the boat and using the locks.  On board, we followed our usual class time-table and completed writing, problem solving and art challenges.

Thank you to Ronnie and The Wooden Spoon!!
