Sadly, the weather was against us on Friday morning and we had to cancel our planned event on the hill itself. However, we quickly adapted our plans and held the open morning in the school itself. The event was a great success with family and friends being invited to have a guided tour of of the site (using our 3D wall display), try out some Neolithic crafts including pottery, weaving, mask making and bread making. Hopefully, pupils will get the chance to take family/friends to the site during their own time, where they can explain again why Cairnpapple is such an important local historic site. Thank you to all those who came to share our learning with us. We are all looking forward to seeing Historic Scotland’s film of the event!
Wow P3,4&5 you should all be very proud of your amazing work! Even though you didn’t get up to Cairnpapple, I heard from my dad how amazing it was at school! Well done! Noah and I liked seeing all your pictures!

Hi Ms Ferguson and P3-5′
Ms Ferguson shared with me all of your plans for your open morning. It is a shame that you were rained off but it looks like you had a great time inside.
I’m very impressed with your 3D map!

Hello Megan! We missed you at the open morning 🙁 We have your weaving which we will send to you soon. Vikings is a great topic! Do you remember the longships we turned our desks into? Hope you are settling in well and we hear from you again soon x
Your open morning looked fun and I wish I could have been there.
My new school is okay. My topic is Vikings! From Megan
