Congratulations to Merryn who has won 10 medals at the Dwarf Games.
There was a whopping 225 Athletes from all over Great Britain who took part in the 2019 Games and Merryn was in the older age group, under 11 for athletics, juniors for team sport & under 10 for swimming. She came home with 4 Golds in 25M butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke & freestyle & was also awarded a special bronze medal for being the closest time to Ellie Simmonds at her age. She also received Bronze for 60M & 40M Sprint, Silver for Shott Putt & 400M cycle & Silver for Hockey.
Her training will continue as she would like to go to the World Games in Germany 2021.
We would like to give a big “Shout Out” to Phoebe and Izzy who have been training 5 times a week for their swimming and it has paid off for the girls!
They both swam in East District Time Trials at the Royal Commonwealth Pool in Edinburgh where Izzy came 3rd in 50 fly and 6th in 100 fly, and Phoebe picked up 3rd in the 100 fly!
Last weekend they headed up to Glenrothes where they collected silver for their part in the freestyle relay. Izzy also collected medals in the 200 IM and 50 fly whilst Phoebe received medals for freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke!
We have been doing rugby with some of Linlithgow rugby clubs coaches. We have been playing games using tags. We have also been making Koi for children’s day in Japan for our topic. In maths we have been looking at the mathematical vocabulary in position, shape and movement by creating posters of the different terms with a description. In writing we have been using figurative language to make poems and instructional language to write guides. We have also been continuing to work on our independent learning project, which is a guide to Japan.
