Hello again everyone at home!
We were all up early for a bright start to the day, straight into the first activities at 9. Lots of fun before lunchtime but the wind and rain followed in the afternoon and a power cut meant we missed out on one of our activities! After some games inside the lights came back on and we went out to have our last session of the afternoon. All together just now chatting and playing some cards before bedtime. Hopefully we have a sunnier, slighter warmer Thursday and last full day.
Highlight of the day; Millie running through the mud, losing her boot, carrying on, then standing on one leg wondering what to do next…
Hope you’re all having as much fun back at school!
Day 2 started off with a dusting of snow. After having our (full Scottish) breakfast, we started our activities. From Scavenging to Manor Olympics, we were in full swing by lunchtime. The sun came out for us in the afternoon and we finished our day with a birthday celebration. Everyone was glad to get to bed after such a fun day. Roll on tomorrow!
We arrived safely here at Lockerbie Manor at 1:30 after a quick stop at Abington. The pupils and staff were given a quick tour of the amazing house and grounds before starting our first activities at half 3. We have been climbing, abseiling, rifle shooting and completing a blind trail! Lots more to come with a full day of 4 activities tomorrow. The children are off to bed and settled now, ready for rise and shine at 7:30 and a Scottish breakfast. We’ve just managed to get the Wi-Fi up and running so have a look at some action shots from today. Hope you’ve all had a nice Monday back in Torphichen!
The pupils in Primary 1/2/3 voted for their favourite book today. Their winner was Jumblebum – The monster who loves mess. Once they had voted they gave some reasons for their choice.
On the 18th Feb we are building a bug hotel for the school garden. If you have any of the following items, please bring them in to school before this date. We need: corrugated cardboard, bamboo canes, sticks, mini logs, small plant pots, dead wood, tiles and loose bark. Thanks in advance for your help with this worthwhile project!
