P3 tried to solve several tricky brainteasers in problem solving today. They would like you to solve the following:
What is heavier? A kilogram of feathers or a kilogram of gold?
What can go up a chimney down but not down a chimney up?
What word if pronounced right is wrong, but if pronounced wrong is right?

A huge congratulations to all pupils and staff for helping achieve the third Eco flag for Torphichen Primary School today! The assessor was blown away by the articulate and passionate way the Eco Committee described their work and was so impressed, he could not think of any recommendations! We can now look forward to receiving and flying a well-deserved new Green flag.
The committee have already been busy – checking the results of the Environmental Review and deciding on their action plans, which are now on display on the Eco board. Remember to add your ideas to the agenda – also on the board – ready for the next meeting on 21 November.
Primary 3-5 are going to increase our knowledge of bonfire night and fireworks by adding interesting facts to this post. I am looking forward to learning more about why we celebrate on the 5th and learning more about fireworks!
