The pupils have been very busy this afternoon with an array of outdoor activities. The sun was shining and the rain stayed away so it was a great afternoon.

The P5s from Torphichen worked extremely well to build a shelter using natural resources in the forest. They have to create a shelter that would keep their fabric ‘man’ dry and the test was carried out with a watering can.

Taking on the role of an animal, the pupils had to find food, water and shelter and punch the marking at that post on their card. Whilst this was happening they had to watch out for the hunter (Mrs J), road kill ( Mrs A) and deadly disease ( Miss A) who were taking away their lives. They could get lives back from the Conservation Warden ( Mrs S) when they found a family member to help them. A lot of running about but good fun!

We had a fun camp fire last night with songs and jokes. We even got to toast marshmallows!!

Alexander, Gregor, Erin, Gregory, Stuart, Aimee, Scott and Max built a raft from logs and barrels then rowed it on the lochen. Their raft was very sturdy but they still got wet!
