Christmas Thanks

Dear Parents,

The Christmas holidays are upon us and it has been the busiest but most enjoyable week in school for both staff and pupils for a while. The children performed wonderfully on Monday and Tuesday in our school concert and I hope you enjoyed them as much as the children enjoyed performing them. I am sure you will agree when I say we have a few budding stars in our midst, evident from our youngest to our eldest children. I wish I had their confidence at that age and perhaps been given the opportunity to be involved in such wonderful ventures. I would like to extend a huge thank you to all the parents, grandparents and friends who came along to both concert performances and to the Church to support the children.

I hope you have a lovely Christmas with your family and wish all good luck for the New Year.

Christmas Show Reviews!

P1-7 pupils were involved in two wonderful performances Monday afternoon and Tuesday evening. Some of their comments about their performances and the shows themselves include:

‘It was quite exciting and I was nervous. However, it was a great evening.’ Aimee P5

”Nervously, I stepped on to the stage thinking that something would go wrong. Fortunately, nothing went wrong and it was the best show I have ever done.’ Rosie P4

‘The P1-4 show was outstanding. I had to play two parts because someone was ill and I kept doing their words but forgetting my own!’  Iona P4

‘The dress rehearsal on Friday was funny because Alexander had to take over Luke’s  part and he couldn’t get his prom dress on. Despite being the only person on stage, I was confident. ‘  Stuart P5

‘Sometimes I was nervous at my lines. I thought the P5-7 show was hilarious.’  Archie P4

‘When I was saying my lines I felt nervous and worried. However, it turned out fine.’ Gregor P5

‘I liked the P1-4 show. The funniest part was when Ryan had to run around everyone as a big star. When I did my part, I thought I was going to get it wrong, however I got it right!’  Gregory P5

‘I loved the fabulous show. Also, I enjoyed the sweet popcorn afterwards.’ Sarah P4

‘I was nervous when I was saying my lines because there were lots of people in front of me.’ Jenna P3

‘I was very nervous saying my words nevertheless it turned out spectacularly.’ Krista P4

‘When I was speaking on stage, I thought it was going fine until I said the wrong words at the wrong time! Despite this, it was still one of the best shows I’ve ever done.’ Aimee P4

‘The show was going on fine even though some people giggled.’ Emma P3

‘Now it’s your turn….please leave us a comment to let us know what you thought of our shows. Thank you!

Eco Committee

Our Eco Committee, having organised and hosted a most successful Eco Day in November (pictures to follow), are now focussing on drawing up their action plans for the rest of the year. The two topics we are looking at are Sustaining our World and Food and the Environment. If you have any ideas as to what we could be doing as a school to address these two topics, we would love to hear from you.

Our meetings will be fortnightly at 2.30pm on Tuesdays, starting on Tuesday 8th January.

On our Eco board in the school corridor, you will find an agenda.  Please write up any Eco matters you would like us to look at.
