Today, primary 1 were lucky enough to have some very special visitors! As part of our People Who Help Us topic, we invited some paramedics to come to see the children. They told us all about their job, what they do and what equipment they use.<\/p>\n

Some of us were allowed to dress up in their real High Vis Jacket, and their paramedics helmet. Then, we pretended Mrs Evans had been trampled by an elephant!! The paramedics put a bandage on her head (like a big plaster) and used a special machine to make sure she was feeling okay (it beeped, and had a blue wavy line on it).<\/p>\n

Then, we went to see the ambulance!!! It was amazing! We even got to go inside! Then they put the siren on for us to hear! (See our picture with our hands over our ears … it was so loud!).<\/p>\n

We had a really great day!!<\/p>\n

Joshua – Paramedics have ambulances<\/em><\/p>\n

Alfie – they wear an ambulance suit<\/em><\/p>\n

Ava – they have a torch<\/em><\/p>\n

Kayleidh – (how could they make sure they are seen?) you wear a jacket<\/em><\/p>\n

Isla – (Mrs Evans should..) get away from the elephant!<\/em><\/p>\n

Lucas – (Mrs Evans is hurt, what do we do?) phone the doctor!<\/em><\/p>\n

James – is the number 909?<\/em><\/p>\n

Ben – the ambulance is blue<\/em><\/p>\n

Lucas – …and green and yellow<\/em><\/p>\n

Matthew – the ambulance has lights<\/em><\/p>\n

Olivia – the lights are blue, and they flash<\/em><\/p>\n

Matthew – it has a siren, and they rescue people<\/em><\/p>\n

Toby – they help people who get hit by a \u00a0car<\/em><\/p>\n

Ben – they are sometimes with the fire brigade<\/em><\/p>\n

Arran – they take you to the hospital<\/em><\/p>\n

Dermott – St Johns hospital.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n
