This week P6D were learning about stored (potential) energy. We discussed rechargeable batteries and how animals (and humans) get their energy from the food that they eat. We now know that sloths move very slowly because their diet mainly consists of leaves which contain carbohydrates. Cheetahs on the other hand eat meat which contains carbohydrates, proteins and fat, allowing them to have much more energy and move a lot faster.<\/p>\n

Finally we made catapults that use rubber bands to store energy. This allowed us to fire balls across the classroom!<\/p>\n
