{"id":8177,"date":"2021-01-05T15:36:26","date_gmt":"2021-01-05T14:36:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/wl\/StJosephsPS\/?p=8177"},"modified":"2021-01-05T15:36:26","modified_gmt":"2021-01-05T14:36:26","slug":"new-term-information","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/wl\/StJosephsPS\/2021\/01\/05\/new-term-information\/","title":{"rendered":"New Term Information"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Dear Parent\/Carer<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">As you will be aware, the Scottish Government made some changes to plans for the re-opening of schools in January just after the end of term in December.\u00a0 Further changes were made yesterday.\u00a0 I am writing to update you on how these decisions affect you and your child(ren).<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><u>Extension to School Holiday and Remote Learning<\/u><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">The Scottish Government has decided that the school holiday period will be extended until Monday 11 January 2021. \u00a0All school pupils will start remote learning and teaching on Monday 11 January and this will last until Friday 29 January, subject to further review by the Scottish Government. \u00a0We will contact you again about remote learning by Friday of this week.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Nursery (Early Learning and Childcare)\u00a0can open to children of key workers and vulnerable children only\u00a0until 18 January.\u00a0 You will be updated on arrangements for after this date when further guidance is received from the Scottish Government.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><u>Free School Meals<\/u><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">If your child is entitled to free school meals, the direct payments made to you over the holiday period will continue.\u00a0 This will initially be up to Friday 15 January 2021, and you will be updated on arrangements for the rest of the period of remote learning.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><u>Children of Key Workers and Vulnerable Children<\/u><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Separate arrangements have been made for\u00a0<b>children of key workers<\/b>\u00a0and\u00a0<b>vulnerable children<\/b>\u00a0from tomorrow (Wednesday 6 January 2021), as required by the Scottish Government.\u00a0 Children of key workers who have requested a place,\u00a0<i>and received confirmation that a place is available<\/i>, can attend their school or nursery (early learning and childcare) from Wednesday 6 January.\u00a0 Vulnerable children can also attend their school \u00a0or nursery (early learning and childcare) from Wednesday 6 January,\u00a0<i>but only if they are contacted by their school or nursery (early learning and childcare) and offered a place<\/i>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">From Wednesday 6 January to Friday 8 January, schools will provide childcare and wellbeing support only.\u00a0 From Monday 11 January to Friday 29 January, schools will provide in-person learning and teaching for vulnerable children and the children of key workers. \u00a0Normal school hours will apply, and breakfast clubs will operate.\u00a0 School transport will run as normal, unless parents\/carers are contacted and informed of revised arrangements.\u00a0 Catering will \u00a0be provided for children attending school and nursery (early learning and childcare) as normal and free school meals provided to those entitled.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><b><i>If you have not received confirmation of a \u2018key worker\u2019 place, or been contacted by your school to offer a place to your child, your child must not attend school or nursery (early learning and childcare).<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><u>Further Updates<\/u><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">We will continue to keep you updated with information when it is available.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">I understand that the changes to school and nursery provision and the short notice are challenging for you, and all members of the school community to deal with.\u00a0 I would like to reassure you that all of the staff at St Joseph&#8217;s will continue to support the learning and wellbeing of all pupils during the next few weeks.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Yours sincerely<\/p>\n<p>Mrs F A Burns<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dear Parent\/Carer As you will be aware, the Scottish Government made some changes to plans for the re-opening of schools in January just after the end of term in December.\u00a0 Further changes were made yesterday.\u00a0 I am writing to update you on how these decisions affect you and your child(ren).
