On Sunday 3rd November the primary 4 children who will be receiving the Sacraments of  Confirmation and First Holy Communion took part in their Enrolment Mass at St John the Baptist Church.  The children participated very well and are now looking forward to beginning their Sacramental preparation.

Primary 4 are continuing to enjoy  lessons with Mr.Bayne from NYCOS. The children have been working on rhythm and keeping the beat. It is great fun!

Primary 5 learning log 8.11.13

This week we have been practicing for our assembly which will take place on the 15th of November. We loved watching the Primary one’s assembly today, they all done so well! We had a great time in art this week, Mrs Hill came in and showed us how to use colour to draw a picture of a Scottish thistle. We used the computers to write diary entries as William Wallace, Robert the Bruce and King Edward.

Primary 3 – Week ending 8.11.13

Yet another busy week in primary 3! This week we have been very clever and have written our very own Haiku poems about winter! They are fantastic and Miss McKenna was very impressed! We are also very excited because this week we have been completing an art compeition for the Commonwealth Games, one winner’s picture will be chosen to be put up in an athletes room! Primary One had their assembly today and we just loved it! Today and Monday we will be learning about Remembrance Day and why this is an important day. As always we look forward to another busy week.

P.S….Only 48 days until Christmas!!!!! 😀

8th November – P1T

We are so happy with how our first assembly went this morning! We practised loads this week by learning our lines and our songs. Thank you for coming and we hope you enjoyed it!

Another exciting part of this week was learning number 10. We sang ’10 green bottles’ to help us count back from 10. Do you like our picture?

Primary 6 – w/e 1.11.13

Primary 6 went on their class trip to New Lanark this week. We had a fantastic time and photos will follow next week.

We have been reading The Desperate Journey in class and learning about the Highland Clearances so we visited New Lanark to find out what life was like for the families who came to live and work there after being evicted from their homes. We much preferred the New Lanark way of life to where Kirsty and Davie were living and working in Glasgow.

A note from Mrs Traynor to P6:
PLEASE REMEMBER FOREST SCHOOL IS ON MONDAY. BRING A PACKED LUNCH AND REMEMBER PE SHORTS TOO!
