P.2.Learning Log

This week we have been learning about information handling in Maths. We gathered information about our favourite pets and made  a pictograph to display the information. We also enjoyed drawing lighthouses after we listened to the story The Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch.  We are very excited about the Galaday tomorrow and Mrs Nolan hopes we all have  a great day with our families and hopes the sun will shine for us.

Primary 3 learning log: 31.5.13

Another very busy week in primary 3! Miss McKenna set us a topic challenge for homework, we had to design a T-shirt that would encourage people from other countries to visit Scotland – we can’t wait to see who has won! Through our topic we have been researching famous Scots and looked at Charles Rennie Macintosh – we even created some of his designs! We really enjoyed P4’s assembly about their sacraments and are looking forward to making them ourselves next year!

Great Fun Outdoors!

Last week Primary Five went to school Camp in Perthshire. We got to take part in five different adventure activities. They were; Flying Fox, Archery, 100 foot Tree Climb, Living Outdoors and the Mohawk Walk (which included The Great Wall of China and the Wild Woozy!). The food was scrumdiddlyumptious, the activity leaders were excellent and we had fantastic fun playing outdoors in the evenings!

Primary 3 learning log – 24.5.13

This has been a very very busy week! We have completed all our Durham testing and we have all done very well! In writing this week we got to watch an exciting video about the Loch Ness Monster and from this we have written amazing stories about it! We have also been completing lots of topic work this week and designed our very own tartan! We are looking forward to another busy week next week!

Primary 6 – w/e 24.5.13

After a lovely long weekend, primary 6 were straight back into the swing of things with Bugsy Malone rehearsals and more work on partitioning in maths.

We have started visiting the nursery every day in preparation for ‘buddying’ the new starts after the Summer. We are also taking on the P7 duties in our final few weeks of primary 6.

* Costumes for Bugsy need to be in school and checked as soon as possible. Anyone wanting to wear their Bugsy outfit to walk with the school in the Gala Day can have it returned for that weekend.

We would like to wish P4 good luck for their First Communion on Saturday.

Primary 2 weekly Learning Log

This week we have been learning about pollution at the seaside. We learned that litter, oil leaks and chemicals from factories can make the sea water unclean. We enjoyed working in groups to design posters to inform people about Pollution in the sea which is dangerous to sea animals and harmful to bathers. We thank mums and dads and grandparents for help completing our information sheet about the seaside at home. We each got a house point for completing this.

Primary 3 Weekly Learning Log – 10.5.13

This has been a short week but a busy one! We have started our new topic about Scotland and we are going to be finding out lots of different facts about Scottish culture! We had a very special talk from the SPCA about looking and treating animals properly, we found it very interesting! We have loved doing experiments this week with Mrs Kerr on sound – it was great fun!
