After a lively summer break all pupils have settled well into the new school session especially the Primary One pupils. The Primary Seven buddies have taken on their roles exceptionally well and are a credit to the school. We welcome Miss Timmins to our school community and wish her a successful year in Primary One. Friendship week took place on Monday 26th – Friday 30th of August and it was lovely to see signs of positive behaviour throughout the school.

JEANS FOR GENES DAY, FRIDAY 20TH SEPTEMBER 2013
Suggested donation £1
Jeans for Genes Day raises money for Genetic Disorders UK, the charity that aims to transform the lives of children with genetic disorders.
Genetic disorders affect 1 in 25 children in the UK – that’s more than 30,000 babies born each year. Their associated health problems mean that genetic disorders are the biggest cause of death of children aged 14 and under.
Primary 6 have had a great first fortnight back at school!
We have started our Highland Clearances topic which is based around the novel ‘The Desperate Journey’ and chosen our articles for Rights Respecting Schools. As part of this, we have created a class ‘expectations’ charter which we have all signed up to.
Yesterday, we helped the countryside trust plant some wild flowers near the cemetery. Mrs Traynor apologises for the mucky children who went home last night!
We finished off our week by celebrating mass with Father Paul Lee who used to go to our school! We wish Father Paul all the very best and congratulations on his Ordination.
Another busy week in primary 3! We have started our new topic ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ and can’t wait to complete different activities and tasks! We are also beginning to learn our times tables and are going to be tested every week! We also discussed what rights we would like to have in our class and created a very colourful display about them! Today we are celebrating our first mass in this school session.
Credit Union will resume in september. If anyone would like to join, visit Mrs Traynor in the p.6 classroom to receive an application form.
We warmly welcome our new primary 1 pupils, they have been fitting in very well and we are proud to have them in our school. They have been encouraged by thier helpful and caring Buddies in P.7!
This week, the new Primary Seven pupils have enjoyed helping the new Primary One pupils.
In class, we have been making zentangles and friendship braclets. They were based on heart patterns to link in with our Levenseat project where we will be learning about the human heart and how to keep it healthy.
