Primary 3 learning log – 24.5.13

This has been a very very busy week! We have completed all our Durham testing and we have all done very well! In writing this week we got to watch an exciting video about the Loch Ness Monster and from this we have written amazing stories about it! We have also been completing lots of topic work this week and designed our very own tartan! We are looking forward to another busy week next week!

Primary 2 weekly Learning Log

This week we have been learning about pollution at the seaside. We learned that litter,oil leaks and chemicals from factories can make the sea water unclean. We enjoyed working in groups to design posters to inform people about Pollution in the sea which is dangerous to sea animals and harmful to bathers. We thank mums and dads and grandparents for help completing our information sheet about the seaside at home. We each got a house point for completing this.

Primary 3 Weekly Learning Log – 10.5.13

This has been a short week but a busy one! We have started our new topic about Scotland and we are going to be finding out lots of different facts about Scottish culture! We had a very special talk from the SPCA about looking and treating animals properly, we found it very interesting! We have loved doing experiments this week with Mrs Kerr on sound – it was great fun!

Primary 3 – Week ending 3.5.13

Another very busy and exciting week! We went on our class trip to Edinburgh Museum and we loved it, we visited the gift shop, had an Egyptian workshop and got to look all over the museum! We have also started our new class topic and this term we will be learning all about Scotland! Today has been very exciting as we have had a cake sale in school to raise funds for a very important cause! The cakes were delicious!

P.2 This weeks Learning Log

This week we started our new topic Under The Sea. We learned about the 5 oceans of the world and the zones under the sea. We enjoyed making clay fish which we are going to paint. If the children have any objects or books relating to the sea please encourage them to bring them in. We are excited about the bake sale today and thank any mum’s and dad’s who baked and we  are looking forward to eating  the delicious cakes. Have  a good holiday weekend and see you all back to school on Wednesday.

Primary 3 – week ending 26th April

We have just finished our class assembly on Reconciliation! Everyone enjoyed it and we think that they learned something about this sacrament! We worked hard to prepare for this and we wanted to show the full school and our parents all our hard work! On another note, we are all excited about our school trip next week – we are going to Edinburgh museum to look at the Egyptian exhibit!

P2 Weekly Learning Log

This week we have been learning about fractions in Maths. We are able to know what a half and quarter are and are able to find halves of numbers to 20. Mrs Traynor also began our Drug Ed. pack in Health and Well being while Mrs Nolan taught French to the P.6’s. Mrs Nolan is looking forward to updating our parents on our progress. P.2 are all working on improving handwriting and presentation of their work to get ready for P.3.

P2 Learning Log

We have learned about pirate food and have now finished our pirate topic which we really enjoyed. Next week we will do a topic assessment.  We also wrote a report about our trip to Deep Sea World which was very interesting and lots of fun. We are making under ths sea collages too. Mrs Nolan is looking forward to meeting all parents this week to chat about all the good work we have  been doing.
