Summer Safe
Severe Weather
Hello boys and girls.
Remember that in the event of school closure due to severe weather, you will find many educational activities on your class blog page.
Primary 1’s week
Primary 1c enjoyed a visit from Mr Foster from powerwise on Thursday 28th February. The children learned all about keeping safe when using electricity in the house. They really liked Sparky the power wise bird. All the children are looking forward to dressing up as a book character for world book day on Thursday 7th of March.
Money Week
We have very busy this week with all of our activities related to money week. We have been learning to recognise all the coins and use these coins to purchase pretend shopping from our basket. We have also used money dominoes to help us with this task. We have written stories about what we would do if we had lots of money and we have made audio recordings. Plastic drinks bottles were used to create our piggy banks to encourage us to save.We have designed purses for Mrs Purdie and she really liked them. We are going to bring some pennies to school on Monday the 25th February for the Snail Trail for charity.
Chinese New Year
The children have been learning some interesting facts about the Chinese New year. This is the year of the snake and the children have been investigating the years that their family was born. They have also watched a DVD about Festivals and followed a family’s celebrations. The children were all born in the year of the Pig and have been creating some beautiful pictures which are displayed in the corridor outside the classroom.
