11th October 2013 – P1T

Another busy week in P1T! We have been learning about keeping safe in school if there is a fire. We did a practise fire drill and know where all the fire exits are in the school. Miss Timmins timed us and we managed to line up and get out safely in 2 minutes! We also went a senses walk around the playground, where we looked, smelled, listened and touched anything which God created. Lastly, we have really enjoyed the beginning of ‘Money Fortnight’, especially our shop in the classroom. We are looking forward to learning more about money next week.

4th October – P1T

We have had another busy week in Primary 1T. We have learned 2 new sounds a and t and are now starting to make words using our sounds! We are really enjoying our topic and have been learning about fire fighters and how they help us. Our favourite part was dressing up like a fire man in class and making fire pictures!

Primary 1T – 13th September

We have been very busy in primary 1 this week! Not only did we have our picture taken for the local paper, we have learned two new sounds c and k (which sound the same!) and did different activities involving number 3. We have also been learning about the doctor and how they help us. Our poor class bear Marcus had to go to the hospital because he banged his head in our classroom, but he kindly brought us some pictures of his visit…here is one of them!

Settling In

Primary 1 have had an excellent first week coming into school for full days! We enjoyed being in the dinner hall with all our friends and showing off our new pack lunch boxes and school dinners! We are a bit tired but have enjoyed starting our new topic ‘People who help us’ and writing our first story. We can’t wait for next week!

Jeans for Genes Day raises money for Genetic Disorders UK, the charity that aims to transform the lives of children with genetic disorders.

Genetic disorders affect 1 in 25 children in the UK – that’s more than 30,000 babies born each year. Their associated health problems mean that genetic disorders are the biggest cause of death of children aged 14 and under.
