Credit Union Update

We now have nearly 80 children in the school saving with us. We would like to encourage even more to sign up – you can get application forms from Primary 6.

The Primary 6 children who applied for cashier and PR posts will be interviewed by Mrs Traynor and Miss McKenna next week. Good luck!

Slips have also been given out to all the children who save with the credit union to remind them to empty their piggy banks and bring in their money next Tuesday.

Well on our way…

We had our second credit union take place in school this week with Rebekah and Kane on hand to help with money collection and our PR Assistants doing a great job of advertising and collecting children from the classes.

We would still love EVEN MORE people to join! It is a great way to save!

Here are some facts and figures about the numbers joining from each class:

Nursery: 3
P1: 7
P2: 4
P3: 9
P4: 9
P5: 7
P6: 17
P7: 2
Teaching Staff: nearly all!

We are hoping that we will be able to make application forms available via the BLOG so keep your eye out. In the meantime, please contact P6 if you would like to join.

A reminder to P7 – it is still worth joining as you can continue this at St Kent’s!

P6 – week ending 26.4.13

The P6 credit union workers were busy this week as our very FIRST EVER money collection took place. Dani and Sara were on shift to help out the ladies from the credit union and lots of children brought in money towards their savings.

We would love even more children to join the credit union – just ask in P6 for an application form.

We have started rounders and cricket in PE this term with Miss Stewart and we are all enjoying it.

We are looking forward to our class trip to New Lanark on Wednesday 8th May and we are practising hard for Bugsy Malone.

P6 – week ending 15.3.13

After an extremely successful assembly last week where Primary 6 launched the school’s credit union, we have been giving out the application forms to the whole school this week. Application forms for the nursery to follow soon.

We have had about 20 applications returned so far and we are hoping for a WHOLE lot more next week. We are really pleased that everyone is serious about saving!

Interviews for the credit union volunteer posts are taking place next week so watch this space to find out who gets the jobs!

Next Tuesday, we have our class trip to New Lanark and we can’t wait! Look out for photos and reports next week.
