Please note that although the registration deadline falls on a public holiday, it will be strictly enforced so voters are encouraged to ensure they are registered in advance.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">Anyone who is not registered to vote should visit\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.gov.uk\/register-to-vote\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\" data-linkindex=\"0\">www.gov.uk\/register-to-vote<\/a>\u00a0or call the Lothian Electoral Registration Office on 0131 344 2500.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">Anyone who will be 16 or over on 5 May 2022 is eligible to vote<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">Other criteria include being a British Citizen, a qualifying Commonwealth citizen or a citizen of the European Union, and normally resident in Scotland.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">There are other voting options available to you should you not wish to vote in person.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">You can submit a postal vote or a proxy vote where someone else votes in person on your behalf. You can also arrange for someone to cast your vote for you by post (postal proxy vote).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">Applications for postal and proxy votes must be made to the Electoral Registration Officer at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.lothian-vjb.gov.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\" data-linkindex=\"1\">www.lothian-vjb.gov.uk<\/a>\u00a0or by sending complete applications to 17A South Gyle Crescent, Edinburgh EH12 9FL or calling 0131 344 2500.
