This week we will be tasting Scottish food, learning tradional Scottish songs and dances and reading stories and poems in Scots.

The Wee Wee Moose
Here is a wee hoose. In the wee hoose lives a wee wee moose. The wee wee moose sees the big cheese. The wee wee moose sees the big muckle cat!
Ma Teddy’s Bumped His Heid!
Ma teddy’s bumped his heid, my teddy’s heid is sair. A’ll put a clootie roon it an show him that a care. Ma teddy’s heid is better. A’ll row the clootie up an we’ll drink pretend het chocolate frae teddy’s favourite cup.
The pupils worked in groups to make sense of the words and illustrate their stories using the words to help them.
We also had a Scottish afternoon making tartan kilts using cars and paint, tasting Scottish food like Irn Bru, oatcakes and cheese and making little paper Pipers.
We learned some Scottish songs such as Wee Willie Winkie and Roon and Roon the Gairden.
Our very own Eve had practised reading The Gruffalo completely in Scots. She was very kind (and brave) and read the WHOLE book to the class. They were a super audience.
