It’s almost the end of the year! Please take a look at our end of term newsletter for a reminder of the last few events…
End of Term June 2013
bAtHgAtE wEsT is tHe BEST!
What a turn-out we had at the Gala Day Procession on Saturday – it was wonderful to see such an enormous flock of Happy Birds! Thank you to all of you who walked with us, and a huge thank you to all the staff and parents, lead by Mrs Bett, who worked very hard to make the day such an enjoyable success.
And…Bathgate West is yet again the best – we were awarded the Neil Butler Cup for First Prize!

Library visits
Each group had the opportunity to walk up to the library, with nursery staff and parent helpers. Once in the library, Anne read lovely stories to us and we also had the chance to look through books, and selected a few to take back with us to the nursery.
Thank you to all our parent helpers – we couldn’t do it without you!
Road Safety Awareness
Our children have been learning about Road Safety and have had visits from local Lollipop people and PC Arnott, raising awareness of the importance of keeping safe, whilst having fun! Every child has received a Ziggy book home and we have enjoyed reading these books together during small group sessions. We’ve been talking a lot about crossing the road safely: think, stop, look and listen, wait and cross holding hands.

Burns celebrations
Our nursery children will enjoy a taste of haggis, neeps and tatties during their nursery sessions on Thursday 24th January. We have been creating tartan patterns in our painting area, and have created a Highland dancer and piper to add to our Scottish display.
The nursery children will also have the opportunity to take part in Highland dancing and games. One of our parents has kindly agreed to pipe in the haggis as the children enjoy their snack – loads to look forward to!
We will add photographs of this event, so watch this space. 🙂
Whoops-a-Daisy Angel
We would like to say a big well done to all of our morning and afternoon children on putting on two fantastic performances of the Nativity, Whoops-a-Daisy Angel in Balbardie Primary School yesterday. We are so proud of all of our children and how well they performed. We know that the families all loved it. The Nursery Carers from Balbardie who were lucky to see the performance in the afternoon loved it too. A DVD of the performances can be purchased from the nursery. Please see one of the team for details on how to buy.
We would like to take this opportunity to wish all of families and friends a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year for 2013. Thank you for all of your support throughout 2012.
