The boys and girls have had Makey Makey in school and they have been exploring music in lots of creative ways. After several workshops they put on a performance for the pupils in school. It sounded fantastic and they really enjoyed the experience.

Yesterday, primary 6 went to Edinburgh Zoo as part of their learning about the Rainforest.

We could not have got a better day for walking around the zoo and had a fantastic time.  Please see the link below to access some photos of our day.

Here are some comments from the class about the day:

Lois “I really enjoyed going to the zoo because we got to see lots of animals we’ve never seen before.  y favourite things to see were the chimpanzees (they were so funny!)”

Chloe “I enjoyed our zoo trip very much.  I especially likes the painted hunting dogs because I’ve never seen them before.  I also liked the monkeys because they came right up to the glass.”

Maya T “I loved the otters and the tapirs.  The monkeys were also very funny.  I really enjoyed the Education Centre.”

Freya ” I liked the zoo because there was a range of animals.  My favourite was the lion.  I felt brave about holding the snail because I really don’t like snails.”

Finlay S “I found it very interesting looking at all the animals, also holding the animals like the snail because the muscles were so strong.”

Isla “I enjoyed looking through the VR headset.  It was fun and interesting seeing the rainforest.  I learned that every animal in the zoo need different things to help them like the tree frog need to be kept hot.”

Ryan “I learned that the Sun Bear is the smallest species of bear and they are very dangerous.”

Finlay K ” I was surprised at how much the chimpanzees were like humans.  I didn’t know that the wild cats were such good hiders.”
