WB 17.8.20 – Primary 1

We have had a very exciting first full week in Primary 1!

We began reading the story of Elmer by David McKee and took part in lot’s of learning based around the story.

We put the story in the correct sequence and wrote about our favourite parts.

We worked together to paint a giant Elmer for our classroom and also made our own Elmer finger puppets.

We learned how to sign colours using British sign language.  Although we cannot sing in the classroom yet we used these signs to help us learn the Elmer Hokey Pokey.  You can watch it at home using this link.

We also began learning about repeating patterns using shapes, colours and other objects. We identified patterns in nature and our surroundings. We made our own patterns using different objects both inside and outside our classroom.

Finally we were learning about the Wellbeing indicators.  If you would like to learn more about these at home have a look at the link below:

Ms Payne and Miss Huxley are very proud of how well Primary 1 have settled and can’t wait to see you all again next week!
