Primary 4 week beginning 4th March

This week in P4 we have been learning about measuring the area of shapes.  We discovered that we can measure in cm2 using cubes or by counting squares on squared paper.  We also tried to draw shapes with a given area.

We also completed out repeated shapes and colour drawings in the style of Welsh artist Owen Jones.

Finally we celebrated Word Book Day by participating in a big design project across the week based on our class novel “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”.  We worked in teams to invent a new chocolate bar for Mr Wonka.  We had to think of a unique design feature, create a name, draw a wrapper for the invention and make a poster advert to advertise our new invention.
