Well done to those pupils who have been doing their Support for Learning Homework. It’s really making a difference. You have been improving your fluency in reading and your accuracy in spelling. Keep it up. A few minutes every night is all it takes!
It was lovely to see some of you last week at our “Visit My Class” evening. For those of you who couldn’t manage, next month will see Parent Consultation Evenings and I look forward to meeting with you then.
Thank you for supporting your child at home with their new sounds and spelling patterns. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact me. I will be more than happy to help.
A warm welcome back to school and to Support for Learning. Groups for this term started this week and a busy week it has been. Children from Primary 3 to Primary 7 have been coming along to discuss what they would like to achieve between now and the October week (when new targets will be decided).
Thank you to those parents who responded to their children’s Individual Education Plans by returning the bottom of the cover letter. It’s not too late if you haven’t sent it in yet. Your comments and input are very valuable and much appreciated.
If you have any question or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact Mrs Dalgliesh via the school office.
Well done those children in P4 and P5 today who baked some seasonal shortbread all by themselves (apart from the hot bits!) They read the recipe, listed the ingredients and utensils, weighed out, mixed, measured and timed. The result was some rather tasty Bat Wing Shortbread.
Well done to all children attending SFL groups this term. Everyone has worked extremely hard in school and making good progress towards their targets. An extra special CONGRATULATIONS to those children who have also shown commitment to their homework tasks. This is having such a positive impact on your learning. Mums, Dads, Grannies and Grandads you can help your children so much simply by checking if they have homework and supporting them to do it. It is a fun way of staying in touch with what your children are doing in school and I’m sure you’ll be so proud of how well they are progressing.
Have a lovely October break and come back ready for another busy and successful term.
Welcome back into a new exciting year everyone.
For those of you who don’t know, the SFL base is along the infant corridor in the old dentist’s room. This term SFL focus will be Literacy and Maths with classes from the middle area. We are looking forward to new challenges and successes. Mrs Dalgiesh will introduce herself during the Visit My Class evenings on the 6th and 7th of September. SFL is there for everyone so please don’t hesitate to contact the base through the school office if you have any concerns.
Well done to our Green Thumb Cookies group for braving a murky November morning to go out and get busy in the play ground. They have planted dozens of spring bulbs, tulips, daffodils and snow drops to bloom and cheer our playground up next year. Keep an eye out for them beginning to peep their heads out of the soil.
Well done everyone! Lots of great results in your assessments. To those groups I haven’t managed to see because I have been in class this week, a huge sorry. I am in class for some blocks next week but will try hard to see everyone at least once. Have a lovely weekend and be ready for Monday!
