Experts in literacy and child development have discovered that if children know eight nursery rhymes by heart by the time they are four years old, they’re usually among the best readers by the time they are eight’<\/p>\n

Enjoy our rhyme of the week displayed in the cloakrooms of both nurseries. Take a photo of it on your phone and build up a collection of rhymes to learn with your child, supporting them to develop the skills that will help them to become confident readers.<\/p>\n

Humpty Dumpty had a great fall,<\/strong><\/p>\n

All the king’s horses and all the king’s men,<\/strong><\/p>\n

Couldn’t put Humpty together again.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Don’t worry if you don’t know the tune, saying the words is fine!<\/p>\n
