Comments Off on Our thoughts and feelings
This week in Inveralmond Early Years we have been talking about our thoughts and feelings. Children have been checking in with our feelings board to allow them to talk about how they feel and why. We have began doing two yoga sessions a week with Karen and two mindfulness sessions with Kirsty which we hope will
improve the mental well-being of children and staff.
We are also focussing on keeping safe

Some children have expressed an interest in nocturnal animals. So we plan to learn a bit more about them next week

Sunny Smiles
Your child will be bringing home a Sunny Smile from the nursery. This is to support discussions and learning in the nursery about our feelings. Please complete the Sunny Smile with your child, the idea is that they draw a smiling face in the middle and you write all the things that they know make them smile on the rays of the sunshine. Then return it to nursery where they will have the opportunity to share what makes them smile and contribute further to our current floor book which is exploring feelings.

Owl Babies by Martin Waddell
Our favourite story to share at this time of year is Owl Babies by Martin Waddell. It is a lovely story about three young owls waiting for their mum to return from a hunting trip. They feel like they are having to wait a long time and are overjoyed once she does come home.
A re assuring message for the children , gently reminding them that parents/ carers will come back to nursery and pick them up…..phew!

Comments Off on Welcome back
It has been a pleasure to welcome our children into the Nursery. The children have settled into Nursery very well. Sadly parents and carers are not allowed into the centre so we have put together a video to let you see the staff and the inside of our Nursery. Please use your device to scan the code below
