This week in Ladywell nursery school the children have been very busy learning lots of skills.  They have been developing their gross motor skills through balancing when using the monkey bars and balancing boards.  They have been learning how to plants seeds and care for peas they have planted into jars.  They have had lots of fun developing their imagination skills through painting pictures, using play dough and making potions at our potion station.   The children have also been practising their forward and backward counting skills when playing hop scotch and have had fun finding and exploring mini beasts in the garden.

We have also enjoyed having snack outside and have set up a den in our shaded area to cool down.

Have a great weekend!

Ladywell Nursery School

This week in Ladywell nursery the children have loved being outdoors in our garden enjoying the sunshine.  They had snack outside talking about healthy food and drinks.  The children have also enjoyed making dens developing their problem solving skills and team working together.  They used the marble run, developing their mathematical skills when exploring with the water and they had lots of fun using the parachute, following instructions well and taking turns.

We have also visited the school this week using the gym hall, developing the children’s fine motor skills along with turn taking.  The children also enjoyed having their snack at the picnic benches in the playground.

Just a little reminder on sunny days to please apply sun cream on your child before coming to nursery and if you have a hat for your child if you could provide that too please.

Thank you and have a lovely weekend!

Ladywell Nursery School

The children have had lots of fun this week going on a walk over to the school to use the gym hall.  They were developing their gross motor skills when running, playing football, balancing bean bags on their heads whilst walking, using the hula hoops, walking along the balancing beam and jumping off and doing forward rolls.  We are hoping to get out into the playground as well to play some outdoor games.  This is a great transition link for the pre-school children who are moving onto P1 at Harrysmuir Primary School in August.
