This week at Inveralmond we have been continuing to enjoy local walks in the woodland. Lots of co ordination and gross motor development has been observed when children have been exploring the woodland area.
Some children have been exploring different ways to mark make using their hands or utensils in the coloured sand. Some children have been writing their names or exploring different letters or words. It is important for children to have mark making opportunities as it allows children to be creative and use their imagination but also a stepping stone in their early writing development.
We have been busy exploring our mathematical skills whilst in the water tray this week using the different sized measuring jugs to fill and empty with water. Some children outdoors have also been using the scaffolding pipes to use to pour water and objects down.
We have had lots of great helpers at snack time to prepare a delicious fruit salad!
