Christmas in Nursery
The boys and girls in the nursery have been very busy making things to sell at the Christmas Fair. Aiden painted a Christmas tree green. Aaron has been enjoying playing in our small world area Santa has moved into the house with his reindeer. Everyone is enjoying ‘working’ in Santa’s Grotto dressing up as Santa, Elves and Reindeer and delivering presents in large sacks – maybe next week the nursery children will learn how to wrap presents and can help their mummy and daddy at home to do this 🙂
P6/5 Weekly News
It has been a very busy week in Primary 6/5. In maths we have been practising our 7 x table and learning about data handling, reading information from frequency tables and bar charts.
In literacy circles this week the Blue and Red group have been practising their summarising skills. The Green group completed their word wizard task.
We started our Christmas display for the hall, painting our reindeer Blitzen! We also started making our Christmas enterprise. We were sewing Christmas tree decorations. Last week we started our Scottish Country dancing practice for our Christmas Party! So far we have learned the Gay Gordons! Some boys and girls really enjoy Scottish dancing but others don’t like it as much. Let us know if you enjoyed it at school!
Winter
Over the past few weeks the children have been drawing pictures to represent their own personal story. We will continue to do this and maybe even write a letter to Santa 🙂
We have been very busy doing different art and craft activities for our Christmas Fair.
The boys and girls are learning their songs for the nativity on the 17th December. Keep singing at home and working hard. Next week everyone will find out what part they have in the nativity and some children might have extra lines to learn.
We have been enjoying hearing Winter stories and Percy the Park keeper.
This week our favourite activities have been:
Using the bricks to build a tower – Brendan

Nativity
Primary 1 and 2 began our practice for the Christmas Nativity – ‘Ralph the Reindeer’.
We have been trying hard to be a good audience as well as good performers. We have been reading our lines and using our big loud voices and beautiful singing voices.
If you ask us when we are at home we might let you hear some of our great songs. We love having people listening to us.

Pupils from P1 and P2 will be performing for the school and Carron Court Nursing Home.
