How to catch a haggis…by Nursery
In case you were wondering…we did indeed catch a haggis today at nursery.
As part of our burns celebrations we have been learning about the wonderful scottish creature…The haggis.
According to Miss Mitchell, a haggis is a wonderful creature that lives in the highlands, and this week, also in Blackridge. It has two legs that are short, and two that are long, so that they are only able to run around steep hills.
Believe it or not, we caught LOTS!!
Here are some of the photos from today.
PM photos to follow tomorrow.
Some delayed photos…
Dear all,
Here are some pictures from the Nativity in December.I had entirely forgotten to upload them in the christmas rush.
Unfortunately we are unable to post the video of the children singing due to the file size just being too large.
The video will however be available for you to see at the next smart start, and at parents evening.
More photos to follow!
Shapes at home…
This week we will start looking at 3D shape, to compliment what we already know about the four basic 2D shapes (square, circle, rectangle and circle).
This week we will be looking at cylinders and cubes.
You can help at home by helping your child to find items in your house that are cubes or cylinders. Relating the mathematical language and concepts they are learning at school to maths in the real world.
happy hunting
What would you take to the moon??
The solar system song…
Ever wondered what the song your children keep talking about is??
here is the link to the solar system song that the children have really enjoyed!
Nursery Staff
The nursery will be joined for the first 2 weeks of term by Miss Blackburn. She is a student from Stirling University, and will be supported by Miss Mitchell and Mrs Chalmers during her time in the nursery.
Thank you to all the parents and children for their enthusiastic participation in the start of our space topic. I now have 39 astronaughts in the making.
