Autumn Term News

Welcome back everyone to our first year in the new nursery.

I am sure that you can all agree that the new build looks fantastic and is quite an improvement on space from what we have had previously.

So, what have we been up to in the nursery so far this year.

The arrival of the caterpillars.

In the first week of term we discovered that we had been taken over by caterpillars, and the had come to eat all of our Kale. The children were very excited by this, so we brought a couple inside to watch them grown and progress on their metamorphosis journey.

We explored…

-What they ate? – What they looked like? -How they moved? -What happened to them inside the cocoon? -Why this happened? – and we also looked at other animals that changed in their life cycle.

The children have been taking great care of their caterpillars, and they know that they will have to wait and be patient whilst they are in their cocoons.

New Starts

We have had lots of new children starting at the nursery this term and they have brought with them lots of fun and smiles.

I thank you all for being patient whilst we help these children settle in and learn our new routines.

Book bags

Book bags will start going home next week. The bags go out on a Wednesday and are returned on a Monday.

Our next topic

The next topic that we are going to cover will be ‘ourselves’. We are going to investigate ‘ourselves’ thinking about our bodies, staying healthy, our families and most importantly learning all about each individual child. I will be sending home a little ‘homework’ task to learn all about your families. If you could help your child complete it, and return it to the nursery by October 2nd.

Learner’s journey

Thank you again for the patience in this matter. Miss Mitchell has been working her socks off to get something new and exciting ready for all the boys and girls and their parents to replace the old style learners journeys. All information will be released soon.

Here are some photos of what we have been up to…
