Welcome back and Happy New Year to all our nursery children and their families.  We hope you all had a lovely Christmas and are excited to be back at nursery.

Our first Woodland Walk of the year took place on Monday.  The children really enjoyed being out in the fresh air and exploring the woodland with their friends.

There were lots of muddy puddles to explore, and these provided great opportunities to learn.  We learned about cause and effect when we found out that the puddles become smaller when you make big splashes, and that the harder you jump, the higher the water splashes.  Jumping in muddy puddles is also amazing fun, as you will see from the video link at the bottom of the page.

We also learned some new words when we got stuck in the mud. “Squelchy”, “sticky”, “swampy”and “gooey” were some of our favourites.

The Woodland Walks will take place every Monday and we ask that you ensure your child is dressed appropriately.  If you would like to join us, please speak to a member of staff.
