{"id":8954,"date":"2021-10-19T20:31:18","date_gmt":"2021-10-19T19:31:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/wl\/BlackburnPrimary\/?p=8954"},"modified":"2021-10-19T20:31:18","modified_gmt":"2021-10-19T19:31:18","slug":"p6-7-writing-assessment-thursday-21st-october","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/wl\/BlackburnPrimary\/2021\/10\/19\/p6-7-writing-assessment-thursday-21st-october\/","title":{"rendered":"P6.7 Writing Assessment Thursday 21st October"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><u>Writing \u2013 Description Assessment \u2013 Thursday 21<sup>st<\/sup> October<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Last session we learned a lot about the different features of a description text.\u00a0 We used our 5 senses to explore a variety of things such as Irn Bru and Scottish Macaroons!<\/p>\n<p>You will be completing a writing assessment on <strong><u>Thursday<\/u><\/strong> to see how much your writing has improved.\u00a0 To complete this assessment you should bring in a special item from home to write about.<\/p>\n<p>The item should be something you can see, touch, smell, hear and taste.\u00a0 It might be that the item reminds you of a taste.\u00a0 For example, I might bring in my favourite mug.\u00a0 When I look at my favourite mug my mouth is filled with the taste of delicious tea and tangy ginger biscuits!<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Some ideas of items you might want to bring in<\/u><\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A favourite toy<\/li>\n<li>A shoe (your first baby shoe or your favourite pair)<\/li>\n<li>An ornament<\/li>\n<li>A piece of jewellery<\/li>\n<li>Your favourite food<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These are just some examples, you may have a much better idea!<\/p>\n<p>Anything valuable can be locked in the cupboard until you need the item and until you are ready to take it home again.<\/p>\n<p>Make sure that whatever you choose is something that inspires you to write a fabulous description!
