Swimming Success in P7a!

On the Thursday 11th of may I went to Arnsberg in Germany with the Livingston and District Dolphins for a swimming competition in a 50 meter outdoor pool with lots of other people from different countries like Sweden, Amsterdam, England, Belgium, Nigeria  and Ghana. It was really fun because you got to meet the other people there and it was a really good experience for everyone there.

P2 love French!

We have enjoyed learning about ‘Magic E’.

  • Logan: ‘page and Jake are Magic E words’.
  • Matthew: ‘cake and shake and Magic E words’.
  • Maya: ‘Magic E can change vowels and also ‘c’ and ‘g’.
  • Cameron C: ‘Magic E is quiet and can change sounds when he stands silently’.

Ayla liked practising writing the letter ‘s’ for handwriting.

Aiyasha is proud of her reading group for reaching the next Oxford Reading Tree stage.

P2 have been learning to read tricky numbers. Jack read ‘456’ and Ayla and Matthew were practising reading numbers up to 1 million!

P2 had a visit from small talks this morning. We had to say our name, count to 10 and say colours in French. We also learnt how to say ‘odd’ and ‘even’ in French. It was great fun playing the photo game!

P 4/5

In science this week we tested whether the tallest person was the fastest. We were timed on a short run and we also measured our heights. Then we plotted our data on a scatter graph. From that we concluded that height didn’t really matter in our test. Things that might effect speed are weight, fitness, leg muscles, how tired.

Yesterday in PE we worked on our shooting skills in basketball. Carla, Bailey and Keir did very well shooting baskets.

Today in maths we did problem solving which most of us found fun and were successful at! Keir and Katie were very efficient at solving the problems. Well done!

We have worked hard to create a rough copy of our own page based on the book Traction Man. Then we made a good copy, using ink and colour that we will put in a class book. Feel free to drop in and have a read!

CEM tests are done and we look forward to getting back to normal next week!
